Special Hat

Another shot from my dad’s house yesterday. The hat is my dad’s (once can tell because of the safety pin in the brim — but that’s a story for another time) from New Orleans. We spent a lot of time talking about Katrina, as my grandmother (his stepmother) lived in Diamondhead, MS. We’ve just found out tonight that she’s safe, and en route to a friend’s house in Georgia. We’re relieved.

My first instinct was to post this version, but I had been considering doing a black-and-white week. So I compromised for today. I figure that New Orleans needs all the color it can get.
